“Speciality coffee” is a term used for coffees that score highly for quality and flavour, usually 80+ points on a recognised grading scale. In practice, that means carefully selected beans with clean, distinctive flavours, grown and processed with a lot of care.
Our House coffees are designed to be reliable, everyday favourites – comforting, balanced and often chocolatey. Our Speciality coffees are where we showcase more distinctive, seasonal lots that might taste fruity, floral, winey or just a bit different to your usual cup. Speciality coffees are chosen because they have standout flavour profiles, so you can expect more than just “coffee flavour”. Depending on the origin and processing, you might find:
Fruity notes – berries, stone fruit, citrus
Floral notes – jasmine, bergamot, delicate aromatics
Sweet notes – honey, caramel, brown sugar
Or more unusual profiles from experimental processing methods
We always list tasting notes on each product page, so you can choose whether you want something gently adventurous or full-on “wow, I didn’t know coffee could taste like that”.

Not at all. You can brew our Speciality coffees with the same equipment you already use at home – V60, AeroPress, espresso machine, cafetière, stovetop – and they’ll behave just as politely in your kettle and grinder as any other beans.
The main difference is that Speciality coffees often reward a bit more attention:
Use fresh, filtered water
Weigh your coffee and water if you can
Adjust grind size slightly to taste (finer for more intensity, coarser if it’s too strong)
But you don’t need a lab coat or a PhD in extraction. If you can brew a House coffee, you can brew a Speciality coffee – you’ll just get a more expressive cup.

Speciality coffees shine when you use brew methods that show off their clarity and nuance, such as:
V60 / pour-over – great for highlighting fruity and floral notes
AeroPress – versatile and forgiving, ideal for exploring different recipes
Batch brewers / filter machines – excellent for enjoying a whole pot of something interesting
Many of our Speciality coffees also work beautifully as espresso, especially if you enjoy brighter, more complex espresso shots. Just choose espresso grind at checkout if you don’t have your own grinder. If you’re unsure, start with a Speciality coffee as filter (V60, AeroPress or cafetière), then experiment with espresso once you’ve met the coffee in the cup.

Most of our Speciality coffees are seasonal and limited – they’re tied to specific harvests and lots, so once a particular coffee is gone, it may not return in exactly the same form. That’s part of the fun: you get to taste what different farms and regions are producing throughout the year.
