The good news is that all our coffees are freshly roasted and suitable for a range of brew methods – it’s more about matching the roast and flavour profile to how you brew.
For espresso machines, we recommend our House blends (like The Terrence and The Dame) or any medium–dark roast; they’re designed to give you a sweet, chocolatey, well-balanced shot that cuts through milk.
For AeroPress and V60, our Single Origin and Speciality coffees shine – you’ll taste more of the unique fruity, floral or nutty notes.
For cafetière / French press, look for medium or medium–dark roasts with chocolatey or nutty tasting notes; they give a rich, comforting cup without too much sharpness.
If you’re unsure, start with a chocolatey House blend for espresso and a Single Origin for filter, then explore from there.

We’ve organised our coffee beans to make choosing easier, not harder:
House Coffee – our reliable, year-round blends and single origins. These are crowd-pleasers, great for everyday drinking and perfect if you want something consistent and comforting.
Single Origin – beans from one country or region, showcasing a particular flavour profile (think Brazil chocolate and nuts, or Ethiopia fruit and florals). Ideal if you enjoy exploring how coffee changes from place to place.
Speciality Coffee – seasonal, higher-scoring coffees with more distinctive flavours. These are for when you fancy something a bit more adventurous in your cup.
Roasters Reserve – tiny, limited micro-batches we’re genuinely excited about. Once they’re gone, they’re gone, so they’re perfect for curious coffee drinkers who like to try something unique.
If you like dependable, go House. If you like exploring, try Single Origin, Speciality, or Roasters Reserve.

If you can, always go for whole bean – grinding just before brewing keeps your coffee fresher and more flavourful for longer. If you don’t have a grinder, we’re happy to grind your beans for you:
Espresso machine – choose an espresso grind
AeroPress – a medium-fine grind works well
V60 / pour-over – pick a medium grind
Cafetière / French press – go for a coarse grind
If you’re not sure what to pick, just choose the brew method you use most often and we’ll grind to suit that. You can always experiment with different grinds on your next bag.

We roast in small batches here in Poppleton, York, and ship your coffee as fresh as possible – usually within days of roasting, not months. Coffee tastes best from around 5–7 days after roasting and stays in its prime for about 4–6 weeks if stored correctly.
To keep your beans happy:
Store them in an airtight container, away from light, heat and moisture
Avoid keeping them in the fridge or freezer once opened – the temperature changes can affect flavour
Buy what you’ll drink in about a month
If you’re drinking coffee regularly at home (around our typical £35/month customer), a 1kg or a couple of 250g bags per month is a sweet spot for freshness.
