Nicaragua Finca Los Angeles

Harvest Period:

During the harvest, the cherries are carefully handpicked on the steep slopes and delivered to a processing area located on the farm. This lot underwent the Fully Washed method, which begins with the cherries being sorted for quality and submerging them in a tank of water to remove the floating cherries. After sorting, the cherries are pulped to remove the external fruit, and fermented in piles for 18 hours. After fermentation, the coffee is delivered to the Cafetos de Segovia mill, located 56 kilometers away, where they will be dispersed on raised beds to dry in the open sun for 12 days.



Farmers and Community:

In the northern reaches of the country is the region of Nueva Segovia, bordering Honduras with high mountains ideal for coffee production. It is here, in the town of Los Angeles, San Fernando and where Finca Los Angeles is situated. The farm has been in the Martínes family for 50 years and is currently managed by Tatiana Agurcia Martínes and his team. There is even an agronomist that maintains the health of the trees and land.

Please ensure you enter your address correctly; otherwise, we won't be able to dispatch your parcel. International delivery is made with Royal Mail Standard International service, which we'll explore below.

DPD NEXT-DAY DELIVERY

Orders placed with DPD before 8:30 am will be sent via Next Day Delivery,; however, this doesn't include weekends. Any orders dispatched on Friday will be delivered on the following Monday.

Any orders weighing over 2.5 kg will be sent via DPD Courier. Your confirmation email will notify you if this is the case. Green coffee orders are restricted to a maximum of 10kg.

This option excludes Northern Ireland and the Scottish Highlands.

For those local to York, we have free local collection points throughout the city that we deliver to on Wednesday and Friday mornings. Orders placed from Friday to Tuesday will be delivered to the chosen collection point on Wednesday morning. You will be notified via email when your order is ready. Available to collect from the Greengrocers (during opening hours) on the Friday after you receive your shipping email. The store is not open on Wednesdays.

You will have one week to collect your order from your chosen location. Any unclaimed orders will be returned to the York Emporium roastery for collection once this period has elapsed
