Mexico Tejao

Sale price£10.50

Blackberry | Berries | Molasses | Cocoa

Tejao is the Mazatec name for Huautla de Jiménez in northern Oaxaca, and this washed Typica, Bourbon and Mundo Novo comes from Mazatec smallholders who grow their coffee beneath fruit and timber trees, with the milpa planted alongside.

What to expect: blackberry and darker berries over molasses and cocoa, a little fruity, with a body that coats the mouth.

Why we love it: the coffee grows in the same plots as the trees and food crops that support the families farming it, and Ensambles' lab in Huautla cups every producer's coffee, prices it on quality and gives them feedback for the next harvest.
