The Four Gates Coffee Blend
The Four Gates Blend takes its name from York's four most famous medieval gateways: Bootham Bar, Micklegate Bar, Monk Bar and Walmgate Bar. For many years this coffee was known as our Four Bean Blend, but we felt it deserved a name that better reflects the city we call home.
Standing proudly within York's ancient walls, these historic bars have welcomed visitors, traders and travellers into the city for centuries. Each has its own unique story and character, yet together they form part of the rich heritage that makes York one of Britain's most remarkable historic cities.
Like its namesake, The Four Gates Blend has stood the test of time. Carefully crafted from four complementary coffees, it delivers a smooth, creamy and full-bodied cup with plenty of character. The result is a balanced, approachable blend that showcases how individual coffees can come together in perfect harmony, creating a coffee that is both dependable and deeply satisfying.

DELIVERY INFORMATION
As a rule of thumb, orders made after 8.30 am will be processed and dispatched the next working day. Once your order has been dispatched, you'll receive an email. If there are any delays—which is possible when dealing with certain artisan coffee varieties and equipment—we'll notify you as soon as possible and maintain communication.
ROYAL MAIL DELIVERY – UK
UK delivery is via the Royal Mail Tracked service and is charged based on the total parcel weight (product and packaging). Please note that Royal Mail Tracked 48 does not guarantee delivery within 2 working days. We provide Royal Mail Tracked 48 shipping for any UK-based orders totalling £35 or more before shipping.
Please ensure you enter your address correctly; otherwise, we won't be able to dispatch your parcel. International delivery is made with Royal Mail Standard International service, which we'll explore below.

DPD NEXT-DAY DELIVERY
Orders placed with DPD before 8:30 am will be sent via Next Day Delivery,; however, this doesn't include weekends. Any orders dispatched on Friday will be delivered on the following Monday.
Any orders weighing over 2.5 kg will be sent via DPD Courier. Your confirmation email will notify you if this is the case. Green coffee orders are restricted to a maximum of 10kg.
This option excludes Northern Ireland and the Scottish Highlands.

For those local to York, we have free local collection points throughout the city that we deliver to on Wednesday and Friday mornings. Orders placed from Friday to Tuesday will be delivered to the chosen collection point on Wednesday morning. You will be notified via email when your order is ready. Available to collect from the York Emporium roastery any time between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm during the week once you have received your shipping email.
York Cocoa Works - Castlegate, York
Available to collect from York Cocoa Works (during opening hours) on the Wednesday or Friday after you receive your shipping email.
Cafe Fleur - Micklegate, York
Available to collect from Cafe Fleur (during opening hours) on Wednesday or Friday after you receive your shipping email.
The Greengrocer of Acomb - Acomb, York
Available to collect from the Greengrocers (during opening hours) on the Friday after you receive your shipping email. The store is not open on Wednesdays.
You will have one week to collect your order from your chosen location. Any unclaimed orders will be returned to the York Emporium roastery for collection once this period has elapsed
